Agrocorp Cares

  • SPD

Formerly known as Society for the Physically Disabled, is the charity that promotes the interest, welfare and advancement of people with disabilities to help develop their potential to the fullest. Through over 20 programmes and services that encompass therapy, vocational skills  training, employment support, assistive technology, early intervention, day care, educational and social support, we serve more than 5,000 people with congenital or acquired physical, sensory and learning disabilities today.

We were one of the partners for the “Count Me In” charity concert in Singapore. The funds raised from the concert went towards maximizing the potential of people with disabilities, so that they can learn to be self-reliant and independent. The concert featured the lauded Singapore Chinese Orchestra, directed by leading music director Tsung Yeh, and young vocalist Lauren Yeo, who held her own sold out solo concert at the Esplanade at the age of 9 and has performed in Carnegie Hall.

Agrocorp recently volunteered for a Sheltered Workshop at the SPD Ability Centre. 15 of us spent an entire day with 100 young and old people with disabilities, sponsored lunch for the beneficiaries and helped them pack over 2000 goodie bags for various events organized by SDP.

Through our loans, we have supported 928 people till date.

  • Love Army for Somalia

We supported the humanitarian crisis when Somalia was faced with famine by donating to a cause in partnership with the Turkish Airlines. The aim of the cause was to charter planes to carry much needed food supplies to those who were in need in Somalia.

The first flight took off in March 2017. This project, entitled Love Army for Somalia, raises funds through the crowdfunding platform, GoFundMe.
